WMS

Warehouse Management System

At GAPP Express, we’ve built more than just a warehouse, we’ve built a technology-driven logistics operation powered by our own GAPP WMS (Warehouse Management System). Designed and custom-coded entirely in-house, GAPP WMS is the core engine behind our 40,000-square-foot warehouse, managing every aspect of our fulfillment process for all our clients and customers. From the moment inbound shipments arrive, the system efficiently receives, tracks, and records inventory at the master SKU level, supporting multiple units of measure such as cases or individual units. Every product that enters our facility is accounted for in real time, providing complete visibility and control across all warehouse operations.

When it’s time to fulfill an order, GAPP WMS takes over with precision. Orders are automatically created, often through EDI 940 transmissions from our customers and the system allocates each item against available inventory to generate accurate pick tickets. These pick tickets guide warehouse staff through the picking process, ensuring they know exactly which locations to retrieve products from. Our mobile WMS extends this capability onto the warehouse floor, running seamlessly on any web-enabled barcode scanner. Employees simply scan the location and item barcodes, and the system verifies each pick instantly, guaranteeing order accuracy and helping new team members quickly become productive. The result is a streamlined, error-resistant picking process that drives faster turnaround times and higher customer satisfaction.

Beyond picking and packing, GAPP WMS provides full traceability and compliance across every shipment. Orders can be staged, palletized, and labeled with GS1 identifiers, with each scan automatically logged for a complete audit trail. This visibility is especially critical in our 3PL operations, where we often ship directly to major retailers such as Walmart on behalf of our clients. Every shipment is backed by detailed records that can be verified in case of discrepancies. GAPP WMS is also fully EDI-compliant, integrating with systems like Microsoft BizTalk to import and export XML and EDI files, including outbound 856 Advanced Shipment Notices. By combining accuracy, automation, and accountability, GAP Express’s GAPP WMS delivers a powerful competitive advantage helping our clients ship faster, smarter, and with total confidence.

Order Items are Allocated against the Inventory Location’s.

As you can see from the Order Lines in the previous image there was a Requested Pack Quantity of 4 set.
